Wow!!!! Stunning piece!!! All those billions of curves and mousework were more than worth it! The lightness, the colours, the elegence, the sense of pure unspoiled innocence is just amazing. I like the two feathers floating downward, nice touch! And the dress and strands of material running off to either side, fantastic! One thing I would say is change your 64 x 64 thumbnail to show a little more to entice more people to look at this baby! Absolutely great piece!!!! Well done!

if the curves are giving you such a problem (you drew those with a mouse??), i suggest trying the pen tool, at least for a base line to work from. it makes making those long thin curves so much easier. anyway, everything about this pic is so absolutely amazing! The cloth is especially magnificent.

Ok I think this piece looks just great.. composition, posture, details are very good. The background could have used some higher contrast or darker colours, this way it should look even more "angel-like".. Good job Andrew...both your entries are very strong, and I think that you're definately in with a good chance at taking the Angel category with this submission. I think the wings could use a slight more detailing, and shouldn't have been chopped off at the top. This is minor though, and its one of those things that if The Mountain has issue with, can be fixed easily. Good luck, hopefully, you'll end up with that tablet!

I'm not sure about the gray background. It looks a little washed out. Perhaps the design could be cropped to more focus on the face. Also if and when it appears on a tee-shirt the angel will be extremely small to accommodate the wings. Nice though!

Wow! This is great. I like the fact that she is wearing what is proper for an angel. This is a pleasant change from nude angels that I don't really think fit the whole heavenly scene. This feeling excludes angels that are drawn with different intentions though, such as dark angels, etc. I really love the lighting, it's fantastic. The heavenly glow emitting from her and the stars falling around her are delicious!

I think the full 3325x4025 version have little more work to do, but I'll let the expert mountain people with their wacom take care of that.(smoothen it out a little more, get the edge of the wings, render the dress a bit more, better curves of the strings, whole thing could use more detail on big version, and etc...) Beautiful job. Re: the curves. I've worked with a mouse for years and many times Ive had to draw a perfect hilight on an edge or to retouch eye lashes. I solve the problem with control (Actually lack of control with the mouse) by drawing a path, defining a brush with a fade control and then stroke the path. PS 7 has it under Brushes: Presetsther Dynamics (on): Control: Fade(pulldown) then apply a number of steps to fade away. With the brush tool selected as well as the path, select Paths: Stroke Paths. Remember the stroke direction goes from the first point created of the path to the last. I haven't found a way for PS to reverse the path direction. If you want a solid path up to a point where the tip then fades away, you will need to draw two seperate paths. I hope this helps.

I do not believe you painted that with your mouse. If you did, then explain to me how you signed it, if I am wrong in assuming you are decieving us in any way I am sure you won't be afraid to prove it. Paint another one of a similar quality (with your "mouse". Save a few WIPS (works in progress). If you want to know why I don't think you painted this with a mouse, (if you did paint it yourself) it is because I looked at your other work, further more I am tired of people trying to justify themselves with their art on this website, when deep down they know they are deceiving their fans. Either with a paint over, or copying from photos, or "claiming to paint with a mouse when indeed they did not." I regress...... if you are truthfull and honest about your art, you will go far indeed. I think it's really sad when someone accuses an artist of lying about something as trivial as whether or not they used a mouse. Personally, I have a wacom tablet and never use it because I can do almost everything I can with the tablet without it. Including my signature. What really bothers me though, is that this is such a wonderful piece of art, definitely one of the best at GFXArtist. Someone so obviously talented as Kalomus would have no reason to lie to anyone about anything. *sigh* Kalomus: Marvelous....this is one of my favorite pieces of artwork, in any medium. WOW is right. So powerful and capitvating. Beatufiul but yet a sense of saddness. Great use of detail in certain parts and gesteral in others. The wings rock, the face is perfect and you can see a bit of anatomy under the dress to imagine how her legs lay. Very nice!
